Give me a head with hair, long beautiful hair, shining gleaming steaming flaxen waxen. Give me it down to there, hair, shoulder length or longer, here, baby, there, mamma, everywhere, daddy daddy hair! Flow it, show it, long as God can grow it, my hair!
Kirk Penney’s hair was again in ravishing and dominant form last night, as he extended out to 13 weeks without a visit to the hairdresser – a league record – and reclaimed his position as the NBL’s top scorer for 2008.
After a slow start against the league-leading South Melbourne Dragons at North Shore Stadium, Penney’s hair was as strong and shiny as we’ve seen all season in the second half. Every lock contributed as Penney lit up from beyond the arc, hitting 6 of 10 from the 3 point line on his way to a game high 27 points. The Dragons were clearly distracted by what appeared to be at least 20% extra volume and bounce, Penney hitting three straight 3-pointers midway through the 3rd quarter and seizing control of the match – the Breakers never looked back.
We are nearly at the mid-point of the 2008/09 NBL season. The Breakers are top of the table. Think about it.
